Too Much of a Good Thing

Like sun, like water, like truth, like people… it can all be too much of a good thing.

Even good things can spoil.

Think about a cold cup of milk.  Now, see that milk sitting outside on a summer’s day directly under a brilliant sun.  Too much of a good thing!  15 minutes of sun a day provides folks with enough vitamin D for your body to be healthy.

Thirsty?  We need at least 8 glasses of water every day to function properly.  That is SO much.  (check out the link!)  Yet, it only takes a cup of water to drown if you find yourself in the wrong position to said small amount of water. And too much water will actually rot your plants!

Too much truth… Without the expression of or exercise of the truth, our spiritual life can become constipated.  A person’s belief system can get clogged up.  We must live out the truth we take in.  What does that look like to have a constipated spiritual digestive system?  The example I think of is the biblical Pharisees or any people who twist the truth into a a way to control life without living it out. Hmmmm… (Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.”)
― Patrick RothfussThe Name of the Wind     Yeah, see what I mean?

People can be too much of a good thing.  We all can get tired of each other.  Wives, husbands, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, friends, it does not matter!  Too much time with, too many words from, too much love…

This link is great Too Much Love from Psychology Today.  Wow!

Never Tired of Each Other

Never Tired of Each Other

Then there are THESE people! Full of life, like 8 month old puppies.  They probably Never love too much or not until they are much older. Too much beauty. No chance.

This link is what the Bible has to say about excess.

There is a time for everything and God can even use spoiled milk.
